a fight for life.

Hello my dear friends!
It looks like you all had a wonderful Easter weekend with your families.
Ryan surprised us and came home early so we got to have him home for the last few hours on Sunday.
So fun!
I have some great pictures to share with you later but today I need to share something with you that is very close to my heart.
You have heard me talk about my beautiful sister, Kortney and her amazing husband, Shane.
Honest to God, they are the most humble, gracious, and kind couple in this world.
They just celebrated their second anniversary and in those two years they have gone through two devastating miscarriages and her current miracle pregnancy with a little boy, Ryker.
(She is 30 weeks along)
They are so strong the way they choose to trust in the Lord every single day inspires me to no end.
The last 30 weeks have been long and a fight, every single day for Kortney's health and Ryker's life.
You can't even imagine all of the complications that she has faced.
Shane and Kort were actually supposed to be arriving here in North Dakota today for their vacation.
(They still live in Washington)
Instead, she is currently in the hospital with large kidney stones that they won't be able to remove until after their baby is born.
The first surgery they did to place a stint/catheter isn't working.
She is developing pneumonia.
They want to back off of the pain medication she is on so that both she and Ryker won't have withdrawals, however, whenever they start to do that, it starts early labor.

The doctor's goal is to give Ryker three more weeks to develop.
They told her yesterday that they are keeping her in the hospital until that happens.
The good thing is he seems completely unaffected.
His heart rate has stayed normal and the doctor told Kortney that it is a miracle that he is so strong after all that she is going through.
"You have one strong little boy in there.", she said.
Praise God!
My friends,
I am asking you for prayer.
Shane and Kortney have been solid but I know they are getting tired.
Be praying for:
-wisdom for the doctors and nurses that are caring for her
-a supernatural healing over Kortney that the kidney stones would vanish and the pneumonia would disappear
-that Ryker would stay protected and unharmed.
-that she would make it three more weeks to delivery
-strength for both her and Shane emotionally

It is tearing me to pieces that I can't be there right now.
So I am doing what I can from several hundred miles away...
If there is one thing I love about blogging, it is the massive support from each reader and I am asking for it right now.
We have no doubt that the Lord is going to have His way and that He will be glorified through the LIFE and HEALTH of Kortney and Ryker.
Thank you so much for caring and hearing my heart...

  19. Praying for your sweet sister and her growing family! I think of them often when I read your blog, ever since a post you shraed about them last year. So thanks for updating up on them. If there's one thing we know, it is that the Lord answers prayer so prayer is my gift to them!
How wonderful that we serve such a BIG God who already has there life mapped out and isn't going to throw them more than they can handle. Sending lots of love to your family.
