You guys, it is December. Are you as excited as I am?
I haven't been this psyched about Christmas since I was a kid.
Having my own kids definitely makes it the closest thing to magical that I've ever experienced.
How was your Thanksgiving? Ours was low key, and wonderful.
We definitely had a lot to be grateful for going into this year, but the main one being is that we found out that we are indeed having....a boy.
I feel like I have known all along. Call it mother's intuition or whatever you'd like. I just knew.
We so badly wanted to add a son to our mix of crazy in this family.
I've had a list of first names that I would randomly rattle off to Ryan, none of which seemed to interest him. At all. The middle name had been decided from the beginning, Ryan's middle name that has been carried down from his own dad and grandpa.
A couple months ago I flat out asked him, "What do you want to name him?"
"Bridger", he said.
"Where did that come from?"
"It's the name of a mountain range. I've never thought of it before right now, but I feel like God just gave it to me."
And that's all it took.
His name will be Bridger Wesley which means "Mountain in the West field".
It couldn't be more fitting and we couldn't be more grateful.
